Castley Eau de Parfum

I really like a good daily driver of a fragrance. I think Castley embodies that scent profile well. It isn't complex but it does the job. Definitely not blind buy safe if youre new to fragrances and for the price. 4 stars because of the performance mainly.

Castley opens with a mix of citrus and spice, led by ginger and pepper. The neroli in the heart keeps it fresh and slightly green before it settles into a woody amber base with a mineral edge. It is clean and modern but feels more restrained than most of the house’s other releases. As with most PDM, this has a designer quality about it, nothing too special in the world of niche. Performance is fine but not outstanding. I get around 6-8h in total with 2h of projection before it moves closer to the skin. I see it working as a daytime scent or something to wear in warmer weather when you want freshness with some weight. It is versatile but it doesn’t have much personality. Overall Castley is pleasant and easy to wear, but it leaves me underwhelmed. For me it is a 3/5, competent but forgettable.
