Hello Eves! Today I want to talk about Philip Kingsley's Daily Damage Defence spray. I got this product in my last advent calendar from Asos and let me tell you, this was one of the biggest surprises of the box. I currently have rather dry hair on the tips because I had grey hair for about 1,5 years and that required heavy bleaching and it was fun for a while but it reached the limit I was willing to compromise between looks and health. So now I am trying to get my natural hair back but that takes time so in the meantime anything I can do to nourish and protect my hair is welcome. This was a discovery because it claimed to smoothen and protect it which I was skeptical (I am always skeptical, to be honest) but it did surprise me! It is a leave on conditioner but since my hair is very fine I dont like to add anything once my hair is dry because it will loose all the volume i can give it and look like the biggest Avril Lavigne fan back in the sk8er era. What I did is applying it on wet hair, comb it and then style it (if you can call what I do styling it, of course) and wow! So shiny and soft! I have to say that the effect doesnt last all the way until I have to wash it next but at least 1.5 days, so it's all good. And I have no clue if it protects against the heat of hair tools because I dont use them heavily and I have VERY strong hair naturally. I can only talk about what it does to dry and damaged hair to an extent. One thing I have to say... it is probably not silicone free because nothing can repair damaged hair and usually the way to smoothen damaged hair is to add silicones to cover it so if you're currently in the no silicones hair routine this is probably not for you. And this is the main reason I wont repurchase this... As soon as I cut the last chunk of hair that was bleached, about 4cm now, I will be back to a no silicone hair routine until I have my next existential crisis and have the need to dye it in the hyped colour of said moment. Let's just hope is not anything too weird... Worth the price point? Honestly I think it is a bit too steep but if you do have the money and you're looking for a temporary fix to your hair I think it is worth the splurge but there are cheaper heat protectors out there if you only need that and if the damage is constant and long term I think it is worth to explore other solutions because for this money (27-30€) you can just pack your bags and go to London for a weekend and there's so many weird people out there that nobody will even notice that your hair looks like a cukoo's nest and at least you will have a lot of fun.
