Shiseido Waso Shiseido - Waso Beauty Sleeping Mask

Hello Eves! I tried a sample of Shiseido's Waso Sleeping mask and here are a few thoughts. I actually used it before searching for the ingredients or checking the claims it made (I couldn't read them in the package anyway :_)) to see what did I notice and what not without any influence and well. I have to say... I applied it after all my night skin care routine the same way than the rest of the sleeping masks and I was pleasantly surprised in the morning as my skin felt soft and plump, but also, nothing really extraordinary. With sleeping masks you should see effects also on the first use even if they increase with reiterate use, but nothing really made me think that this one is super different than others. I liked that the gel texture and I loved the smell (we will get here soon...). It felt very pleasant on the skin and not too sticky either so it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Now it is when I entered the Shiseido website and read the ingredients and the claims. The main one was the beautifying effect of Yuzu, without any other explanation of what that "beautifying" means... but as you may or may not know it is a citrus that tones and brightens the surface of the skin and has vitamine C, so you better use your sunscreen religiously after every use because this is not a serum that totally absorbs overnight, this is slowly absorbed and in the morning you still have it present on your skin. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid so here we have probably the main reason that my skin felt plump, sleeping masks are a good way of getting the most out of HA because it will create a humid environment that will make the effects last longer and as I explained in a previous post HA is very environment dependant! Other claims: Vitamine A (too soon to notice any effects), Ginseng and vitamine B, a good adition to prevent textural problems, Safflower oil to relax your skin and Moutan Bark known to prevent breakouts, which is good. All these are a bit long term promises so I can't say if it does deliver. And now the reasons why I wont purchase the full size Sleeping mask: Alcohol is pretty high on the ingredient list, like, one of the highest; and perfume... which bothers me a lot because I don't like those on my skin specially when they will stay active for such a long time. Alcohol dries your skin so it is actually quite counter productive with the mentioned ingredients, and it is a shame because the formula of this would be so nice if it wasn't for this factor. And perfume on the long run makes my skin crazy and prone to breakouts. So it is a no for me. I would only recomend it to people that only plan to use this a few times a month, because it is not sooo bad, but I don't think this is the best you can do for your skin when used consistently.

I first had my doubts about this product, especially if you look at the price! But it really works really well for me! I have a dry sensitive home and after using it a few times you can already feel the difference. The only minus is the price, you will get around with the product for a long time

This mask feels really refreshing. It has such granules that pop when you massage it in. Furthermore, it is very hydrated for my dry skin and feels clean. It also smells really nice. My acne has also diminished a bit. It's also super easy to apply

Okay so... I got this peel off mask for my birthday combined with other shiseido skincare products. I had never had a peel off mask back then and was very curious! What matters to me in a peel off mask: - It's not too thick or sticky so it's easy to put on. - it's easy to play - It's easy to wash off the mask from a washbasin for I'm clumsy and mess when I put on a mask 🙈😂 This mask meets most things! It's easy to peel and you can wash it off the sink with a little effort. However, it's super sticky and it takes a lot of effort to put it on. However, it works very well and your skin feels really baby soft!
