Thé Amara

I’ve been wearing Van Cleef & Arpels Thé Amara for the past week straight, and it’s honestly been a very enjoyable experience. The first thing that hits me every time is that fresh, clean tea note. It’s smooth, refreshing, and has this effortlessly elegant vibe. Almost like stepping out in a crisp white shirt on a sunny day. It’s not loud or flashy, but it gives off a really polished and calming presence that I can’t help but enjoy. The note structure is really nicely done. The tea is front and center, lifted by bergamot and mint, with just a touch of pink pepper adding sparkle. The floral heart of rose and sweet pea stays soft and understated, giving the fragrance a gentle elegance. As it dries down, the base of white musk, cedar, and cashmeran adds a clean, slightly woody coziness that keeps it smooth and versatile. Each stage flows naturally, and I enjoy the whole progression. What really impressed me is the longevity. For something that wears so airy and clean, it actually sticks around well on my skin. I don’t find myself needing to respray, which makes it super reliable. I also love how easy it is to layer with other Van Cleef fragrances…it blends in seamlessly and adds depth without ever clashing. If I’m being honest, I do wish it projected a bit more. It stays pretty close to the skin, and while that makes it perfect for work or social settings where you don’t want to overwhelm anyone, I sometimes found myself wanting just a bit more presence. That being said, it handled the nice weather we’ve had recently perfectly. I wore it across different situations—casual daytime outings, more dressed-up evenings, even just running errands and it never felt out of place. It has that “wear anytime” quality that’s hard to find. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. If you’re after a fragrance that’s clean, versatile, and refined without being over the top, The Amara is a fantastic option. It’s subtle, it’s classy, and it feels like the kind of scent you can just rely on day in, day out.

A quite beautiful scent with a bright, citrusy opening which really encapsulates the feeling of summer. Van Cleef fragrances are seriously underrated and this was the first in my collection and one that will STAY in my collection. A refined scent that will get you plenty of compliments.
