Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum

Baccarat Rouge 540 is honestly one of the most addictive scents I’ve ever worn. It opens with saffron and jasmine which give it that soft warm sweetness, then it settles into the richest blend of amberwood, ambergris and cedar. It melts beautifully into the skin and lasts all day, leaving a warm sweet woody trail that people always notice. It feels luxurious from the first spray and it only gets better as it develops. I use it the same way I use my everyday fragrances, a couple of sprays to the neck, wrists and clothes. With this one you really don’t need much because the projection is strong and it clings beautifully to clothing and hair. It’s one of those fragrances that makes you feel put together instantly. What I love most is the longevity and the way the scent evolves throughout the day. It starts bright and warm, then becomes deeper and more sensual. The only downside is the price. It is definitely a luxury fragrance and not one that fits everyone’s budget. Typical prices are around £165 for 35ml, £245 to £255 for 70ml, and £485 to £495 for the 200ml when you can actually get hold of it. The 200ml isn’t always easy to find, but because I use fragrance daily and go through bottles quickly, it made the most sense for me. Would I recommend it? Yes, but only if you enjoy warm sweet woody scents and want something long lasting that actually gets noticed. It’s not your everyday casual perfume; it’s a statement scent that feels expensive, lasts for hours and always gets compliments. If you’re looking for a signature fragrance with real presence, this is definitely worth trying.

I really wanted to hate this perfume due to the price. I want to own this but I fear I may never own the real version. I went to Harrods and got a few squirts and it stayed put all evening. It’s really pleasant and I think a little would go a long way. Maybe value for money ?!!
