In my house, petroleum jelly cannot be missing: it is a precious ally for many situations. I often use it on dry skin, to protect it and keep it soft. I'm not an expert or dermatologist, but in my experience it works really well. On Afro hair it is very useful, especially when making pigtails: I apply a small amount to the skin to avoid irritation and maintain hydration. It only takes a little product to get good results, and it lasts a long time. Every so often I have to buy it back.
