TOM FORD Private Blend Fragrances Oud Wood Eau de Parfum

I’ve tried quite a few oud fragrances, and I’ll admit straight away I’m not a fan of the natural, barnyard-style oud note. It comes across too animalic and overpowering for my taste. What I really appreciate about Tom Ford Oud Wood is that it takes the idea of oud and makes it smooth, wearable, and refined. It leans more on the synthetic side, and that’s exactly why it works for me. Instead of being skanky or heavy, it feels clean, polished, and almost creamy with the supporting woods and spices. For someone like me who can’t do the raw, natural oud, this is a far more approachable take. If you’re a purist and crave the real, funky oud note, this might come off too tame, but for my preferences that’s what makes it enjoyable.

Oud Wood is smooth and very luxurious. Think oud with slightly sweet notes of amber and sandalwood. I would say this fragrance is unisex but definitely leans on the more masculine side, due to the woody notes, making it a great gateway oud for everyday use or special occasions. Lasts approx 6 hours on my skin. Overall, slightly on the expensive side but worth it for that luxurious feel.

Tom Ford Oud Wood opens with a smooth blend of spicy cardamom and pepper, leading into a soft woody mix of oud, sandalwood and a touch of vanilla-like sweetness from tonka. It’s refined and easy to wear, but the performance is pretty underwhelming for the price. Nice for a refreshing change, though there are far better value fragrances out there that give you a similar woody-spicy vibe with more staying power.

I absolutely love this. Unfortunately, my bottle is running out so try to use it only for special occasions. I've tried a few of his other scents, but I like this one the best. It has a unique scent that is instantly recognisable. People also say how great it smells!
