Safety Razor Recently, my razors were out and it seemed like a good time to switch to a more sustainable alternative. At first I was reluctant about this so-called safety razor. Despite this he looks stylish, it seemed anything but pleasant to shave with. But after doing some research, I was persuaded to try it. I ordered my copy via Bamboozy.nl. This website sells a number of sustainable and zero waste products. I ordered the safety razor with 20 extra blades (€29.99) and to avoid shipping costs 100 additional blades (€14.99). As you can see, the holder is an investment for a moment, although I don't think it's a crazy price for a quality product. What strikes me is the low price for the blades, normally I only bought 3 Gilette blades for €15. Also nice to mention, I got a reusable cotton pad gift and a handwritten note, very attentive! My Experience: First of all, the blades, these are thin and bendable as paper. So much less scary than I expected. You can unscrew the holder, so you can place the blade in it. This is very easy and safe. The holder is heavier than I'm used to, but it's comfortable in the hand. As soon as I make the first shaving motion over my leg, the discomfort is gone. Actually, it doesn't shave very differently than other blades. My legs go smoothly and I also keep my bumpy knees whole. My legs are super smooth afterwards, so this part has succeeded! Now my armpits, they're almost even easier than with my old blade. Successful too! And finally my bikini line, this is the most exciting part to me. What you have to think about is that a blade protrudes on both sides. I found this area a little more difficult than the rest, all in all the result is certainly there. I usually have blood dots and shaving bumps, I didn't have this at all! Below I list some advantages and disadvantages of the safety razor. Benefits: - Durable and low waste (both holder and blades) - Very smooth result - Cheap blades in a large amount. This allows you to swap them more often to always use a sharp blade. - Blades are easy to change. - No shaving bumps - Not as scary as it seems! Disadvantages: - The thin round handle. I'd rather have had a little more grip. - You need to soap when shaving, because this blade does not have a soap strip like other blades. The shaving is sometimes a bit stirring. I'm very glad I switched to this! It's a really good replacement for the “normal” razor. In addition, my bathroom is a step more sustainable!
