Great vitamin c serum! After using Drunk Elephant's rather expensive C-firm serum for a while, I did occasionally suffer from pimples and some mild irritation. That's why I started looking for a more affordable alternative. Most vitamin C serums do give me some pimples if I use it too often, but I've been using the mad hippie every other day for 8 weeks now, sometimes every day and I'm really not bothered by anything. Spreads well and absorbs quickly. However, I always put a Moisturizer over it right away, otherwise it still feels a bit tight on my dry skin. Most vitamin c serums use ascorbic acid, which is very acidic and requires a high concentration to penetrate the skin. In addition, it is not that stable. This ensures that you can get pimples. Mad hippie uses it against ascorbyl phosphate, this much more stable form of vitamin c penetrates the skin more easily and is very soft, so it does not cause pimples/acne. In addition, it contains beautiful antioxidants, vitamin e and hyaluronic acid. And very nice vitamin c serum for a reasonable price!
