Easy to use, disappointing results

My exploration in Starskin continues. I've tried several of their masks by now and in my search I came across two very fancy masks. In this review, I review the Starskin PRO Platinum Peel Mask Pack: a two-step peeling treatment. It looks very professional. It's a package that you can fold the front open. Then you'll see very clearly what the 'treatment' consists of and how it works. You can then open the package at the top and remove the mask from there. What is it and what does it promise? This mask consists of two parts: - 10% mandelic acid jumbo peeling swab. A large cotton swab with 10% leave-on almond acid which exfoliates. - foil sheet mask enriched with a nourishing kale leaf serum. The foil mask creates a sauna effect. The foil layer warms up the skin so that the active ingredients do not evaporate and get lost. The treatment promises a smoother, brighter and more balanced skin after 10 minutes. How does it work? You remove the tube from package 1 and from it you need to tear off the end so that the large cotton swab can be removed from the tube. It was quite a job to break that tube. The plastic is so supple that it bends all the way. Fortunately, I was able to get my nail in between and with brutal force I was able to release the large cotton swab from the tube. You then gently pull it all over your face. I have sensitive skin so I felt it a little prick right away. Then take out of the other pack the sheet mask, consisting of two parts. It's really a thick foil-like mask. The bottom part is first placed over the lower part of your face, then the other over the upper part of your face. Due to its thickness, the mask can be less tight on your face and the occasional serum drips down. But no problem, because you'll spread it all over your body (just like the remaining serum in the pack). I found it very easy to use. Result: Unfortunately, this is not prone to repetition for me. My skin feels dry and pulling. After a night's sleep my skin looks red and still feels tightty. I also see flakes around my mouth and cheeks... Because of my sensitive skin, I normally avoid these types of peels. And to be fair: I had been so snugger when ordering to check what kind of mask this actually was. I was clearly seduced by the fancy packaging and the beautiful promises. But who knows this product is very suitable for ladies with oily or blemished skin. At least it's a product that is easy to use in a beautiful packaging!
