How to gel nail polish Supplies: UV Nail Light — I use the one of the tagged starter set myself Primer Gel Polish Base & Topcoat Gel polish colour of your choice. Cleanser Nail polish remover Then now the roadmap + tips: Step 1: Remove any nail polish, degrease your nails, push back your cuticles (cut them off if necessary) and roughly with a file on your nails. Tip: If you're going to rougher your nails, just do this an ini mini bit, because it's not that good for your nails at all, and make sure you do it with a good buff block NEVER with a regular file that's way too coarse! Tip 2: Use cuticle oil daily to keep your cuticles and nails healthy, this also facilitates the push back process, always use a buck's foot to push back your cuticles. Step 2: Lacquer a coat of primer over your nails, which helps the gel nail polish better to adhere to your nails, making it stay longer. Step 3: Paint a layer of Basecoat over your nails and keep them under the lamp for at least 60 seconds. Tip: Lacquer as thin as possible, it runs less and you're less likely to get on your skin, you want to avoid this Tip 2: Every brand has a different curing time, most lights can be 60, 90 or 120 seconds, you are always safe at 90 or longer, most brands do 60, you can check this on their website, sometimes it's also on the packaging, you doubt? just throw them under the bulb for an extra minute 😉 Step 4: Paint the first layer of colour on your nails and throw your nails back under the lamp. Tip: Paint as thin as possible here too, and repeat this step until you are satisfied with the colour. I used 3 to 4 layers here myself. Step 5: After you're satisfied with the colour, put 1 more thin layer of top coat on your nails, this gives the colour a nice shine and protects the colour layer. Do this one last time under the lamp. Step 6: Grab a cloth (preferably special for nails, you can also find it by bulb or they are in the starter set, put a little cleanser on the cloth, and go over your nails to remove the sticky layer that some lacquers create. Step 7: And last but not least, cuticle oil! Lubricate your cuticles AND nails with cuticle oil. Tip: Do this every day, this is good for your cuticles and nails. Easy right? I will soon also make another comprehensive How to remove gel nail polish. That too is different as with regular nail polish. What else would you like to see How To's from? Let me know in the comments!

Coming back to my previous post now one: How to remove gel polish. What do you need: - Wusses - nail polish remover - nail file - nail oil - aluminium foil or finger caps - timer Step 1: Carefully file the top layer of your nail polish off Note file not too hard you don't want to hit your own nail. Step 2: Grab a cotton wool (I cut mine in half) soak it with nail polish remover and put it on your nail. Then put the nail caps on it - if you don't have them, you can wrap them in with aluminium foil, as long as the cotton wool stays in place and is semi 'tight' over the nail Step 3: Set a timer for 15 minutes (I do one hand at a time so I can do other things myself) Step 4: Take off the foil or caps and remove them from your nail in a swiping motion so you can pull almost all the loose lacquer, if it barely let go or you just have very thick layers of lacquer, repeat the steps until it's loose! Step 5: After everything is off, grease your nails and cuticles with a nice oil, and possibly use another hand cream, because nail polish remover is not really a benefit for your nails or hands, so take care of them well. That's it, if you have any questions I love to hear them!
